We offer elementary through AP/IB levels of the following subjects:
Religions (specific and comparative)
IB Theory of Knowledge
While a diagnosis of learning difference or challenge in no way defines a student, having as much information as possible helps us tailor our tutoring sessions to be most effective in helping our students recognize their successes!
We have experience working with a whole host of learning differences and challenges, including the following:
Auditory and Visual Processing Disorders
Autism Spectrum Disorders
Additionally, we have worked with homeschooled students and students in hospital-homebound situations.
Let us know if you would like referrals to testing psychologists or if you would like us to attend any IEP or 504 meetings.
Across the Board
We have observed a growing disconnect in terms of executive functioning skills with the prevalence of technology in our students' lives.
Regardless of what subject we are tutoring, we emphasize the following:
Recording assignments somewhere other than the school's online calendar
Planning ahead, both in terms of academics and extracurricular activities
Reaching out to teachers with questions
Being proactive in asking for assignments ahead of time if the student knows he/she will be missing school
Organizing notes, binders, folders, notecards, backpacks, lockers, and computer files
